I must admit that I was shocked that I have been doing my newsletter since 2008 and have NEVER talked about Plantation Shutters before! What was I thinking?
Plantation shutters are a great way to enhance the look of your windows even when your windows are not exactly rectangular (see photo below). They come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
Plantation shutters are a very versatile product: they are suitable for skylights, arches, “normal” windows and even sliding doors. Oh, and they can be motorized too!
They are generally more expensive than shades and blinds, which may make you think twice before investing. However, they increase the value of your home when selling because they “become” part of the windows once installed. They also offer an incredible insulation factor and there are instances where you can deduct some of the costs on your tax return as a “home-improvement” (please consult your tax adviser). If you’re thinking of getting these shutters installed to your windows, it might be worth checking your windows are still strong and don’t need repairing. Over time, windows can become worn out and stiffer to close and open. These are usually signs that it’s time to change the windows. It might be worth getting in touch with a window replacement phoenix company if that’s the case. If you live in that area, they could upgrade your windows, ensuring that they are functioning properly. After the windows have been sorted, you can think about getting these shutters.
Plantation shutters are like a “puzzle”. There are several ways to specify and install for every window. As a certified installer with two of the largest manufactures of Plantation Shutters, my number one focus is to offer my clients the best option for their windows.
I truly LOVE dealing shutters.
